APM Terminals makes donations to institutions in order to strengthen their strategies in terms of health, education and benefit for the general population

APM Terminals, as part of its strategy in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility, makes donations to the Tenth Military Naval Zone, the General Hospital and the educational institution Cecyte 05 to contribute to the fulfillment of its objectives (health, education and emergency support) in benefit of Lázaro Cárdenas and surrounding communities.

APM Terminals, as a socially responsible company, seeks to permanently promote the well-being of the communities where it is present by promoting the values ​​of Grupo A.P. Møller – Mærsk by carrying out strategic actions that generate value and support for the population.

As part of the implementation of the group’s objective, to promote a spirit of collaboration to create sustainable benefits in society, the environment and the economic development of the population, APM Terminals has made donations with an impact that exceeds 250,000 inhabitants. from Lázaro Cárdenas and surrounding communities to community institutions that meet objectives oriented to education, health care and well-being of the general population.

In an unprecedented act in which multiple donations equivalent to $ 26,000 USD were made to different entities; Port authorities gathered under strict sanitary measures in the official handover protocol as witnesses to this activity: Vice Admiral Mario Maqueda Mendoza, Commander of the Tenth Zone; Engineer Jorge Luis Cruz Ballado, General Director of the Integral Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas; Rear Admiral Ubaldo Gómez Rodríguez, Regional Captain of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas; Ricardo Arguelles, LZC KCSM Sector Headquarters and Luis Fernando Loya Famoso, Notary Public. On behalf of APM Terminals, Antonio Pérez, Director of Operations and Cristian Ospina, Director of Occupational Health, Industrial Safety and Environment; They served as representatives of this donation that symbolizes the group’s permanent commitment to its community.

Under this scheme and following the collaborative strategy that APM Terminals has carried out since the laying of the first stone in the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, the following items were delivered:

  • Commemorative container of APM Terminals alluding to the operation of the “First Million Containers” to the Tenth Military Naval Zone to join the Marine Plan, which performs rescue tasks for the community in emergency situations.
  • Computer equipment to the Cecyte05 school, winners of the Youth on the Move 2019 tournament.
  • Industrial face protection masks for all the personnel of the General Hospital of Lázaro Cárdenas (specialists, doctors, nurses, orderlies and cleaning and surveillance personnel) who, jointly, attend the tasks related to the attention to the pandemic in this region.

Likewise, and as part of this joint effort, KCSM delivered computer equipment to children from the Casa Hogar Marikuecha and has donated 1,000 face masks to the General Hospital of Lázaro Cárdenas to contribute and maximize the benefit that extends to the most important groups. vulnerable communities and allows guaranteeing the universal right to education and health.

“This donation represents the will of the organization to strengthen local strategies to provide help to the community through the tasks heroically carried out by the Tenth Military Naval Zone, who is present when the population needs it,” said Antonio Pérez , when referring to the integration of the container “First Million Containers” to the tasks of the Marine Plan.
