Port of Lázaro Cárdenas grows 2% in Total Cargo Movement as of February

The Operational Committee of the Integral Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas (APILAC), announced that the total cargo movement reached 16 million 122 thousand 068 tons during the first semester, an activity that grew 10%, higher than 14 million 720 thousand 371 tons operated at the same period of 2018.

The operation by type of load was distributed according to what is shown in the following graph:

In high traffic, 83% of the total cargo was handled, where imports concentrated 61%, with the traffic prevailing, while exports registered 22%, mainly derived from the export of finished products from Steel and fertilizers. In this traffic, the importance of mineral bulks for thermoelectric and fertilizers, containerized cargo, vehicle load, other fluids and agricultural bulks stands out.

Thanks to the Port Lázaro Cárdenas offering better conditions of efficiency, quality and continuity of its port services, it promotes competitiveness, being one of the main trade routes for the import and export of goods, as it has specialized terminals for various types of cargo, a natural draft and a privileged area for maritime and land connection with the main trade routes of the world and the country.
