New CEOs of five APIs

This Wednesday, the new general directors of the Integral Port Administrations (API) of Manzanillo, Lázaro Cárdenas, Veracruz, Dos Bocas and Mazatlán protested, in compliance with the instruction of the President of the Republic, Mr. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the head of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), engineer Jorge Arganis Díaz Leal.

During the sessions of the Board of Directors, where the appointments were made, the Secretary of Communications and Transportation urged the participants -through a video message- to join forces to promote the changes proposed by the President of the Republic, with the objective to eliminate corruption in the country’s ports.

For her part, the general coordinator of Ports and Merchant Marine, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, who led the five sessions, pointed out that they will work in a coordinated manner to comply with the mandate of the heads of the Federal Executive and the SCT.

The Admiral, Salvador Gómez Meillón, new head of the Manzanillo API, promised to contribute his best effort in this assignment to ensure that the port has a social focus, for the benefit of Colima and its inhabitants.

In his opportunity, the state governor, José Ignacio Peralta, recognized the professionalism and ability of the new general director to carry out his work in the Port of Manzanillo.

Gómez Meillón: Engineer in Naval Sciences from the Heroic Naval Military School of the Mexican Navy, with master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering, National Security and Defense and in Naval Administration. He was commander of the Sixth Naval Region, deputy director general of the Social Security Institute for the Mexican Armed Forces, general director of Research and Development, and of the Social Communication Unit in the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR); commander of four ships of the Mexican Navy, exchange instructor on the Custodio de Melo School Ship of the Brazilian Navy; Professor at the US Naval Academy and representative of Mexico before the International Maritime Organization.

While in Lázaro Cárdenas, the new general director is the Admiral, Jorge Luis Cruz Ballado, who thanked him for the recognition given to him with the assignment.

Cruz Ballado: Engineer in Naval Sciences from the Heroic Naval Military School, teacher in National Security and Military Administration, has been a professor at the Heroic Naval School and the Destroyers Instruction Center. He was general director of API Lázaro Cárdenas, operational and logistics supervisor in different activities of SEMAR and member of the Strategic Planning Unit of SEMAR.

In charge of the Veracruz API, the Admiral, Romel Eduardo Ledezma Abaroa, was appointed, who promised to work to promote the well-being of the port.

The governor of the entity, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, also participated in this session, who indicated that he will work in a coordinated manner with the new head of the API to review the contracts and agreements, with the aim of benefiting mainly the population.

Ledezma Abaroa: Naval Science Engineer at the Heroic Naval Military School, of which he was director, teacher in Naval Administration and in Military Administration for Internal Security and National Defense. He has been a teacher at the Center for Naval Superior Studies and at the National Defense College; Commander in the ports of Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Baja California Sur, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Quintana Roo and Head of the Intelligence and Personnel sections of the General Staff.

While in the Integral Port Administration of Dos Bocas, the new head is Vice Admiral, Gregorio Martínez Núñez, who said he was honored by the task, assured that he was aware of the challenges he will face and that he will succeed with teamwork.

Martínez Núñez: Engineer in Naval Sciences from the Heroica Naval Military School, master in Naval Administration, as well as in National Security. He was Internal Auditor and General Director of Services of SEMAR for coastal areas and their surface units, Commander of ships of the Mexican Navy. He carried out personnel administration tasks on the coasts of Tabasco and Colima and developed oceanographic research cruises.

In a session of the Board of Directors, the Rear Admiral, Mariel Aquileo Ancona Infazón, was appointed as responsible for the Mazatlán API. There he indicated that he will put all his efforts to continue making this a successful port.

Ancona Infazon: Naval Science Engineer from the Heroica Naval Military School, master in Naval Administration and National Security, took courses and diplomas in strategic intelligence, strategic political analysis, national security, borders and migration, and management and security in ports. He was Head of the Legal Unit of the General Staff of SEMAR, Officer, Captain of the Cargo and Commander of ships in Mazatlán and Sinaloa.

With these appointments, there are now a total of 12 APIs in which CEO changes have been made.
