The Operation Committee of the Integral Port Administration of Lázaro Cárdenas (APILAC), announced that, at the end of April, activity in the movement of total cargo grew by 6%.
This positive variant results from the operation of 9 million 999 thousand 623 tons, higher than the 9 million 437 thousand 863 tons operated during the same period of 2018.
The operation by type of load was distributed according to what is shown in the following graph:
In high altitude traffic, 81% of the total cargo was handled, where imports concentrated 60%, being the traffic that has predominated, while exports registered 21%, derived from the export finished steel products and fertilizers
Cabotage traffic registers 19% of the total of the cargo operated, corresponding mostly to inbound traffic of mineral bulk for the steel industry, from the inputs for the fertilizer terminal and to the reception of petrol and diesel from PEMEX.
These results are due to the joint work of all members of the port community, who day by day collaborate in their work of promotion, infrastructure improvement and quality services that provide the competitiveness that foreign trade requires, as well as saving costs and times that derive in the satisfaction of the clients that trust in this logistic link that is the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas.
