The port of Lázaro Cárdenas, through its Port – City Linkage program, with the responsibility of contributing to the preservation and care of the environment, carries out various actions that lead to a decrease in the use of natural resources, the conservation of flora and fauna of their environment, as well as patterns that result in promoting good habits and attitudes of environmental awareness.
One of these activities is the installation of a global photovoltaic system, which has 4,134 solar panels, distributed in four infrastructures: Isla del Cayacal Emergency Control Center, Albatros Bridge, Lázaro Cárdenas Integral Port Administration Building and Control Tower of Maritime Traffic.
This has contributed to the energy savings shown in the following graphs:
Of the 3, 440, 428. 30 kilowatts of energy generated monthly, is equivalent to stop emitting 1,324, 564,896 tons of carbon dioxide or the similar to the consumption of 9, 830 houses in average consumption per month.
Likewise, the port complex takes advantage of clean energy, avoiding wastewater discharges, reducing noise pollution, waste, emissions into the atmosphere, as well as helping the community by creating a link between the port and the city, supporting activities for the benefit of the environmental environment of this region.
